Specialists speak a language well-understood only by their peers. Conveying complex ideas to a non-specialist (be it a scientist from another discipline, a grant reviewer, an investor, or a student) requires plain language and an ability to see the world through your audience’s eyes. Drawing on techniques developed by the Alan Alda Center for Science Communication, AAAS, and StoryCollider, this 90-minute workshop will provide attendees with a toolkit for improving those skills and draw on evidence to dispel myths about science communication.
